Our Policy

At Pinder’s Ferry, we understand that travel plans can change. However, as a small, family-owned business operating on tight schedules between Abaco and Grand Bahama, we maintain a simple and firm policy:

All ticket purchases are final. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

This includes:

  • Missed departures due to late arrival
  • Voluntary cancellations or changes of plans
  • Schedule changes due to weather, mechanical issues, or operational needs
  • Unused or expired tickets

Why This Policy?

We set our fares to be affordable and accessible for our community. To keep prices fair and operations sustainable, we cannot offer refunds. Every ticket sold helps us maintain our vessels, support our crew, and continue serving the islands we call home.

Need to Change Your Travel Date?

While we cannot issue refunds, we do offer flexibility where possible:

  • Date Changes: You may contact our office directly to request a change to your travel date. Changes are subject to availability and operational constraints.
  • Same-Day Changes: These are not guaranteed and depend on vessel capacity and schedule.
  • Ticket Validity: Tickets remain valid for six (6) months from the date of purchase. If you cannot travel on your selected date, please reach out before your ticket expires.

Weather & Operational Changes

The Bahamas’ weather can be unpredictable. If we must delay, reschedule, or cancel a sailing due to safety concerns (high winds, heavy rain, mechanical issues), we will do our best to accommodate passengers on the next available sailing. However, these operational changes do not entitle passengers to refunds.

We encourage all passengers to:

  • Check in at least 30 minutes before departure
  • Call ahead on days with uncertain weather to confirm sailing status
  • Allow flexibility in travel plans when possible
